William S. Sakamoto, 83, of Kahului, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2017, with his loving family by his side.

Services honoring Mr. Sakamoto will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017, at Christ the King Church.

Visitation will begin at 9:30am, and mass at 11:00am. Mr. Sakamoto will be laid to eternal rest at Makawao Veterans Cemetery at 1:00pm.

William Sakamoto was born on November 18, 1933, in Paia, HI, to William & Mabel Sakamoto. William served proudly in the United States Army, and retired as a construction supervisor from HC&S. William was a perfectionist and a man of integrity, who was always willing to go above and beyond for his friends and family. He enjoyed taking care of the garden, but most importantly, loved spending time with family.

William is predeceased by, sisters, Myrna Largosa, and Winona Afaga; and granddaughter, Christian Sakamoto.

William leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, May Sakamoto; sons, Shawn (Carrie) Sakamoto, and Jason Sakamoto; daughters, Camille Sakamoto, Heather (Shawn) Gomes, and Kara (Kevin Johnson) Sakamoto; grandchildren, Zachary (Erin Kuranishi) Sakamoto, Kalsie Sakamoto, Courtney (Kaulana) Kaaa, Chassidy Sakamoto, Cody-John Sakamoto, and Isaiah Gomes; great grandchildren, Jayden Parel, Kaydynn-Marie Rieta, Ryley Rieta, Noa Kaaa, and Nakoa Kaaa.
