The Marvel Snap meta is constantly changing as players develop new answers to the current dominant decks. With developer Second Dinner implementing changes to cards from time to time through major monthly patches and the Over The Air (OTA) balance updates, the best Marvel Snap decks keep on changing based on the high volume of usage for those strategies, as well as their efficiency and win rate in matches.
S-Tier Marvel Snap meta decks (the most consistent decks in terms of winning strategy and effectiveness)
Thanos Lockjaw
Thanos is back on top of the Marvel Snap meta. Back in 2023, Thanos’ ability to give the Infinity Stones to its user’s deck combined with Lockjaw’s card-switching ability paved the way for one of the most powerful combos to ever exist in the game. Now, with the addition of new support cards, the deck is once again on top of the game despite Lockjaw’s nerf months ago.
One of the new support cards that made the deck stronger and more consistent is Caiera, which can protect your one and six-cost cards from being destroyed by your opponent. Blob is also a good addition thanks to its ability to merge with the cards in your deck, gaining their total Power in the process. As for Skaar, it is a six-cost, 11-Power card that costs two less for each card with 10 or more Power on your side. Overall, the Thanos Lockjaw’s potential to gain massive Power while having a toolbox of effects proves its worth as a force to be reckoned with in Marvel Snap.
Thanos Control
If you thought that we were already done with Thanos is in this list, then you are wrong. Thanos Control is another deck starring the Mad Titan but relies more on control and disruption effects which can then be converted as offense for your side.
Control staples such as Jeff the Baby Land Shark, Professor X, and Alioth are in this deck. As for Shang-Chi, its potential destruction effect can be big, especially if your opponent plays cards with ten or more Power. Vision is there for movement, while Magneto’s ability to move your opponent’s three and four-cost cards can disrupt your opponent’s setup. Devil Dinosaur and Blob are your massive Power sources for the deck.
High Evolutionary
Aside from Thanos, High Evolutionary is another big bad card that has its own archetype of decks. The abilities of the Evolved creations revolve around two mechanics—having unspent energy in turns and inflicting negative Power on your opponent’s cards.
Sunspot, Misty Knight, Shocker, and Hulk are there to build up Power on your side while taking advantage of the mechanic of saving at least one energy on your turns. Scorpion, Cyclops, The Thing, and Spider-Woman, on the other hand, inflict negative Power on your opponent’s units. Disruption cards like Shang-Chi and Enchantress are also present in this deck, while Abomination is a potential cheap Power source that you can use in the mid to late game.
InSheNaut
The classic move to skip turn six to pave the way for the She-Hulk and the Infinaut/Hulk combo is one of the most offensive threats in the current Marvel Snap meta. One factor that helped the deck become more consistent than ever is the adjustment to Magik, making it a three-cost card while keeping its effect of extending the game to a turn seven.
Leech is a game-changer in this deck thanks to his ability to remove the abilities of all your opponent’s cards in the hand on turn six. This makes their cards plain vanilla units and can only be used because of their Power. Disruptors like Cosmo are present in the deck, while low-cost cards like Sunspot, Nebula, Misty Knight, and Armor fill up the early game while potentially stacking Power along the way.
A-Tier Marvel Snap meta decks (consistent decks with a viable winning setup)
Standard Destroy
The standard Destroy deck has established itself as one of the most consistent and reliable decks to ever exist in all of Marvel Snap. It has a straightforward strategy, which is to destroy your cards to gain a handful of advantages in the different stages of the game. This includes gaining more Power for your cards, lowering the cost of your cards, gaining additional energy, and more. Deadpool, Wolverine, and X-23 are your main destroy targets, while Carnage, Killmonger, Venom, and Deathlok allow the destroy mechanic to take place. The classic finisher duo of Knull and Death is also in this deck, as well as Forge and Hulk Buster to further boost the Power of your destroy targets.
Standard Discard
The classic Discard deck has been working well in the current Snap meta. It is a consistent deck engine that does not require a lot of complicated thinking and setup to make it work. With the arrival of Daken, you’ll have another potential massive Power source in the deck. But if you don’t draw well, especially in the early game, and you can’t discard units like Apocalypse, Swarm, and Wolverine, you better think twice if you can still win or just retreat.
Black Knight Discard
Rejoice, discard users! The Black Knight deck can be considered as the discard strategy that has the balance of being a reliable deck while also bringing the fun and luck factor for your side. Here, your goal is to always bring out the Ebony Blade, which is your potential indestructible massive Power source in the deck. If you manage to discard a high-Power card like Magneto or The Infinaut which can be the target of Black Knight, then it’s almost a guarantee that you’ll win the game.
Hela Tribunal
If you are a fan of playing high-risk, high-reward strategies, then Hela Tribunal is for you. This deck heavily relies on the Hela and MODOK combo hidden under Invisible Woman to bring out multiple high-cost and high-Power cards all at once without the need to spend their corresponding costs. It can be harder to pull off compared to the other meta strategies available in the game. But trust me, it’s indeed a satisfying scenario once you can do the combo.
Electro Sandman
Another deck returning to our list is the old yet reliable Electro Sandman ramp deck. Here, the strategy is simple: play Sandman as early as possible to limit you and your opponent to just playing one card per turn. That is why Electro is important to give you max energy per turn, as well as other cards that can allow you to play Sandman on turn four like Wave and Psylocke. The Blob and Taskmaster combo is also a pretty deadly turn five and six play that can outplay your opponent most of the time because of the massive Power that you can create on at least two of your locations.
Moon Skaar Hulk
The classic She-Hulk and Moon Girl combo to duplicate and give you cheap-cost copies of the former has been revamped thanks to Skaar. Now, the deck has seen more offensive options, with Skaar also a good target for Moon Girl’s duplication ability. The High Evolutionary engine composed by Sunspot, Misty Knight, and Shocker, added with Nebula can build up Power for your early game. Magik is there to extend the game to turn seven. As for Quinjet, it can even lower the cost of your She-Hulk and Skaar copies, while Hulk is another potential massive Power source that gains Power if you take advantage of the energy conservation mechanic.
B-Tier Marvel Snap meta decks (other good deck options)
Sera Surfer
Sera Surfer is also back in the meta. This time, it includes the presence of Sebastian Shaw, who is the season pass card in December 2023 during the Hellfire Gala season. It can gain plus two Power every time it permanently gains Power because of your cards or location effects. With Silver Surfer’s boost effect to your three-cost cards, this makes Sebastian Shaw a potential formidable Power source, especially if you stack even more Power in him using the Nova and Killmonger combo, as well as Power boosters like Forge, Okoye, and Nakia.
Patriot
Last but not least on our list is the classic and reliable Patriot deck. Here, the game plan is to just play or create as many vanilla units as possible which can be boosted by Patriot in the late game. Cards like Onslaught also help your cards gain as much Power as possible thanks to their ability to double the Ongoing effects of your cards in the same location. Blue Marvel is another good Power booster since it can give plus one Power to all of your cards, may these have abilities or not. This strategy may be a bit predictable, but it never gets old and is definitely fun to play with.
