A prayer meet was held yesterday in the memory of Escorts Group chairman Rajan Nanda, who was also the father-in-law of Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda. Rajan Nanda passed away at the age of 76 on Sunday night at a hospital in Gurgaon after a brief illness.

Many celebrities from Bollywood showed up at the prayer meet to pay their last respects. Amitabh Bachchan, who was shooting in Bulgaria for his film Brahmastra rushed back to Delhi as soon as he found out about Rajan’s demise.

Amitabh also thanked fans for their concern. He took to Twitter and wrote, “The messages of condolences are greatly and humbly acknowledged .. they speak of your affection and concern .. they convey the spirit and love of the Ef .. thank you.”
