Sadly, though her parents were both involved with Remnant Fellowship, according to a member of the church, David  “definitely did not represent everything Gwen said was right and rigorous.” So, the two eventually drifted apart and Gwen went on to fall in love with actor Joe Lara, known for playing Tarzan in the 1990s TV series.

Thus, Elizabeth’s parents got a divorce and Gwen went on to marry Joe in 2018.

At the time, Joe already had one child, a daughter, with his ex-girlfriend Natasha Pavlovich, The Way Down actress.

Unfortunately, Elizabeth’s mother, Joe, her husband, and four other church members were killed in a private plane crash on May 29, 2021. The group of seven was flying on a Cessna Citation 501 jet from Tennessee’s Smyrna Airport towards Palm Beach, Florida when they crashed into Percy Priest Lake.

Allegedly, Elizabeth’s step-father Joe, who had little aircraft pilot experience was flying the plane at the time. However, the exact cause of the crash remained unknown.
