NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A man was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 20) in the Lower Ninth Ward, New Orleans police said.

The victim’s age and identity have not been disclosed. The NOPD described him as “an adult male” who was shot several times and found unresponsive on a sidewalk in the 1800 block of Lizardi Street. The man later was pronounced dead at a hospital, police said.

The shooting was reported at 3:18 p.m., and the victim’s death was confirmed at 4:01 p.m., police said.
